A Note from Chief Timothy Jackman
Santa Monica Police Department

At the Santa Monica Police Department, we believe we can make a difference in children's lives and neighborhoods by keeping youth challenged, engaged and involved in positive after school activities. The PAL program offers these opportunities to the youth of Santa Monica, leaving a lasting impression that enhances their ability to succeed throughout their lives.

Working with the youth of Santa Monica has proven to be an asset to both the community and the department. PAL enables us to better interact with our young community members and get a head start on building those important relationships that help create a safer city. Working together with various partners throughout the region including PAL, strengthens us as a department, which in turn allows us to do more for our city. The young residents PAL serves are not only gaining valuable educational experiences, but also a strong sense of civic duty helping them to become informed, engaged citizens.

PAL is a public-private partnership operated by the City of Santa Monica. PAL is a 501(c)3 corporation with a non-profit Board of Directors. Donations to PAL are tax exempt to the extent allowed by law and are devoted to program related activities.
